Proposal

The proposed site is located on farmland to the south west of Great Cransley, approx. 1.3km west of Broughton, and 3.5km south of Kettering.  The site covers approx. 1.5km sq. and is owned and occupied by one local landowner.  The site is currently used for arable farming.

The proposed windfarm infrastructure will include:

  • Up to 4 (125m) wind turbines and turbine foundations
  • Access tracks
  • Meteorlogical mast
  • Control building
  • Grid connection (transformers, cables and substation)
The turbine details are as follows:
  • Hub height - 80m
  • Rotor diameter - 90m
  • Max. height to blade tip - 125m
  • Generating Capacity (per turbine) - 2MW
  • Total Generating Capacity - up to 8MW
The windfarm will be designed to have an operational life of 25 years, after which the site will be decommissioned.
