The ‘Objections’ link on this web site is spot on! Further to this I have not seen or been presented with the ‘benefits’ of the proposed wind farm to surrounding villages. Do we get cheaper electricity? Are there really any benefits?
Why can’t they use the land to grow rape seed or other plants that can be converted to bio fuels instead of erecting monstocities on the landscape?
An interesting article which exactly why they shouldn’t be built:

I am generally in favour of alternative energy as long as it is sited in a suitable location and the benefits to the community outway the detrimental aspects.
This application has been made with total disregard for the residents in and around Cransley and Mawsley and with no care or thought for the effect upon their daily lives and property prices. One landowner will reap the rewards while others suffer.

I am in favour of wind farms but only where there is a good overall reliable wind speed and not close to villages where residents would be affected. eg
In the sea away from populated areas. In such areas there should be more turbines in each windfarm resulting in less costly infrastructure per turbine.

Windfarms are fine where they cause minimal ecological damage and are efficient. Four windfarms the height of St Pauls Cathedral within 850 metres of many dwelling houses in a low wind volume area meet none of these criteria.

I register my objection to the siting of these wind turbines in this location.

I and my wife both support the campaign and the petition against the wind farm
NN14 1TS - WE SAY NO TO THE WIND FARM AT THIS LOCATION
My wife and I thoroughly object to the siting of a wind farm so ridiculously close to our village. Although alternative, sustainable sources of energy must be developed, the siting of wind turbines must depend on more than simply a farmer’s willingness to line his pockets by either selling or renting his land at the expense of his neighbours’ quality of life.

NN14 1TA. Rather than simply objecting on the basis of ‘NIMBY’, the host of reasons espoused by the campaign against the proposed windfarm are compelling and comprehensive. I oppose the winfarm on that basis.

I agree wholeheartedly with the comments previously made about the unsuitability of using land bordering rural communities.
If windfarms are the way forward, there must many sites that are more suited to this project, away from communities.
I don’t think the environmental benefits claimed for windfarms outweigh the negative factors associated with them. These have been well rehearsed but mainly comprise unsightly encroachments on the countryside, noise pollution to those living nearby, more expensive power and inconsistent power delivery which has to be backed up by conventional power stations.

I object to the proposed development principally on the grounds of its proximity to existing dwellings.
There must be locations in this country where wind farms can be installed without impact on local communities. Cui bono?
The proposed site is much too close to the villages and I agree with the objections highlighted by Mike Barnard.

I have lived in Broughton all my 16yrs of life and i don’t believe they should destroy our landscape any more, the wind farm would be to close to the village and a great loss for local communities.

The proposed windfarm site is far too close to local villages.
I fully support this petition.
I fully support alternative green methods of producing electricity but all proposals should be contained within necessary strict government planning guidelines.
I have read and agree with an important goverment guideline that wind farms should be at least one and a quarter miles from dwellings. Without further review of other important issues surrounding this application - this proposal at Great Cransley is no more than a half mile from householders at Mawsley Village. Householders that have invested lifetime earnings and invested in new property.
This planning application should be denied without further consideration. Only then, would we, consider a property move to Mawsley Village.

Are there any minutes of the last Action Group Meeting held on 16 Feb 2009?
EYE SORES
i WORK WITH COMPANIES ERECTING WINDFARMS ON THE EAST COAST (YARMOUTH LOWESTOFT AREA) WE ALL KNOW THIS IS A TOKEN GESTURE FROM POWER COMPANIES AND GOVERNMENT. AND I CAN TELL YOU THEY ARE NOT COST EFFECTIVE WHEN YOU LOOK AT MANUFACTURE, INSTALLATION AND SERVICING AGAINST WHAT POWER THEY SUPPLY.
Leave your response!
